Lauren Gioscio, Owner

I’m mom to Wyatt James and Juniper, yoga teacher, fibers artist, all around aficionado of soft cheeses, connoisseur of puppies, ardent world traveler, and lover of love.

I grew up in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina and stayed to attend Appalachian State University’s Interior Design program. My tenure at App State fostered my desire to be surrounded by beauty and well thought out design…that’s where Juniper James comes in. I’m thrilled to fill the void of places to shop for couture wedding attire in the High Country, and am proud to offer our clients the best in wedding design and service.

I can’t wait to help make your wedding day as lovely as you are.

our mission: equality + representation

Juniper James Bridal is proud to provide a truly distinctive experience that’s married with (see what I did there?) exquisite service to every.single.human that walks through our door. Gay, bi, gender fluid, straight, male, non-binary, female, black, white, (you get the idea)…we’re honored to help style you, dress you, and glam you up while maintaining great reverence for ALL the things that make you who you are. We want to celebrate you and your love. It’s as simple as that.

In an effort to walk the walk outside our doors, Juniper James is committed to giving back. Each month, a portion of our sales will go toward a rotating list of local, regional, and national organizations that fight for equality. In addition, our agenda is filling with fundraising events that will benefit these same organizations, and our staff members give their time to the High Country’s own Boone Service League. If you or someone you know is part of a likeminded non-profit organization and would like to chat about a partnership, please fill out our contact form here.

our mission: sustainability + beauty

When you walk through our front door, my hope is that your jaw will fall completely off your face and hit the floor. Seriously.

Glitter, velvet, steel, modern, retro, victorian…and plants. So many plants. All of these side by side to create the most luxurious space. We have worked so hard to source the most perfect pieces for the shop, and we did it all without using a single piece of plastic. Every piece of furniture, the chandeliers, the rugs, the plant stands, even the portraits hanging on the walls were all bought second hand, thrifted, antiqued in and around Boone, North Carolina, or were handmade by local artisans.

There are so many beautiful items already in existence and the beauty of a place like Boone reminds us what we are working to preserve for future generations. One glance out the shop windows at any given point in the year offers a flourish of color, trees, peaks, and valleys.

By buying previously loved items and giving them new life, Juniper James is producing a smaller footprint and keeping waste to a minimum. We are committed to doing our part to preserve the beautiful surroundings that inspired the store in the first place.
